Travel Review! – Sentido Numa bay- Turkey

My travel review- Sentido Numa Bay

Alanya Turkey

After our first visit to Turkey 12 months earlier, we decided to travel there again in June this year to enjoy everything that this amazing country has to offer. Having experienced such an amazing trip in Turkey the year before, we knew that being booked into the Sentindo Numa Bay would be an excellent choice as the 5* hotels that we have seen in Turkey are a very high standard.

Flying into Antalya airport, we had a very straight forward coastal road transfer which lasted just under an hour down to the hotel. On our arrival we were extremely impressed with the service we were given by staff at reception who gave us a quick and easy check-in while our bags were taken up to the room. The foyer was stunning, with beautiful marble tiles and spotlessly clean we knew that our stay would be exactly what we were looking for after spending the previous 8 months renovating our house. Needless to say we were in need of this welcomed break, so our first impressions were extremely good as we looked forward to 7 days of family time, sun and relaxation.

ROOMS

Our bags had already reached the room by the time we got up there and between myself and Kelvin we like to unpack straight away to ensure that we are set, ready to enjoy our holiday.

The room was extremely comfortable with a huge double bed and a single prepared for Evie. Our first impression was that it was beautifully clean with a lovely view overlooking the swimming pool area of the hotel and the beach. The bathroom was complete with a shower, sink and toilet and equally as spotless.

There are no irons supplied in the room so I definitely recommend taking one if you think you will need one as reception don’t have any, they do however offer a laundry service.

On the last 2 days of the holiday we were upgraded to a swim-up room on the other side of the hotel. This room was very similar to the room we had stayed in for the previous 5 days, but, but with an extra room upstairs it gave us more space and would have been ideal for a family with 2 children or teenagers.

These rooms had the sun on them for the majority of the morning which made it nice to sit out on our balcony and enjoy some privacy before heading out to the main pool for the day.

FOOD

With the buffet restaurant serving excellent food each, day we were more than happy to head there for our lunch and evening meal most days but with the hotel also boasting thee separate restaurants – Joe’s Grill, Ali Baba and the Wok House. We also gave those a try on two different nights.

Breakfast had a good variety of food for the family and was exactly what we were expecting with plenty of cereals, breads, hot breakfast selection, cold meats fruits and juices. The staff were great, all very friendly and cleanliness in the restaurant was clearly top priority, there was always somewhere ready to sit with staff on hand to help with highchairs.

SWIMMING AND FACILITIES

The hotel had a family pool which we overlooked from our balcony for the majority of time we were there. To give us that bit more luxury and privacy we decided to hire a private bed that gave us a little more space to move around with Evie and keep our belongings and pushchair organised.

Luckily, these beds were situated in between the big pool as mentioned above and the small toddler pool which Evie spent a lot of time in with the friends she made at the hotel. This made it a lot easier for us as a family to spend more time together rather than one of us being with Evie and the other down the opposite side of the pool. The toddler pool had a little slide and everyone who had children in there were more than happy for them all to take turns in sharing toys that each of us had brought along. It was a nice atmosphere in and around the pool areas between everyone there.

There was a separate ‘adults only’ pool and also another smaller family pool behind the child’s pool which had a small waterfall and two medium-sized water slides linking on to the back of it.

The hotel is situated on the beachfront which is perfect for couples and families who like to visit both pool and beach on holiday.

Drinks were available from the bar that was situated in the middle of the two main pools, serving different wines, cocktails and soft drinks. Ice creams and freshly made waffles were available from 12pm-3pm which Evie and her friends definitely made the most of! Why not though!? Holiday treats! We also enjoyed these as they were just too good to turn down.

A snack/lunch bar was also in this area with a small selection of food for people who fancied something out of the normal hours that restaurants would be open.

ENTERTAINMENT

Along with having a children’s pool, there is also a kids club aged 3-12, The children’s entertainers were brilliant and each night was a ‘Mini Disco’ for the younger ones followed by entertainment both put on by hotel staff and also external entertainment teams coming in to do various dance shows and musical entertainment. There was something for everyone with a bar in the hotel and also an outside bar closer to the beach which was nice for couples and families who didn’t want to watch the shows in the evening.

During the day there are also various activities and competitions taking place which was fun without being overpowering.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are wanting a reasonably priced holiday with 5* service. I would say its probably better catered for families than couples alone but the Numa group of hotels also owns a lovely adults only hotel next door which we went to see called the ‘Numa Beach’ Hotel. As we traveled with a young child, the Numa Sentido Bay was perfect for us, fit all of our needs as a family and also as a couple.
